There is a very well known everyday nutrient that with a little twist can become a great negative calorie diet food. Using this little fat burning tip each day can help you increase your fat burning and add an extra boost to your diet results.

You may just roll your eyes when I reveal this fat loss tip but stay with me.

The not so secret diet weapon today is water.

I am not going to bore you with a lecture on the importance of water and how just drinking it can reduce your hunger and food consumption. Today I want to share with you one small change that can add up to a real fat loss result.

You probably know that the human body tries to stay at a constant temperature. Every time we are exposed to hot or cold small adjustments are made to regulate our body heat.

Each time we eat or drink something colder than our core body temperature we have to burn calories to warm up. Burning calories produces heat. That is why we shiver when we are cold, it is our bodies using our muscles to burn calories and produce heat.

So what has that got to do with water? Simple, drink your water ice cold to burn more calories and lose more weight. Water naturally has zero calories. Just by chilling our drinking water we now have a negative calorie diet food.

For every ounce (30mL) of ice cold water you drink you burn about 1 calorie. Maybe that does not sound like a big deal but if you stick with a normal intake of eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day that is 64 additional calories burned.

After a week that is 448 calories burned that did not require any extra diet and exercise. Over four weeks that is the equivalent of a couple of hours of hard exercise or skipping meals for an entire day.

Just drinking ice cold water for a year could burn an extra 23,296 calories which is about the same energy as 5 pounds of pure lard.

Many diet experts actually recommend drinking up to 128 ounces of water a day if you are dieting and exercising to lose weight.

As you can see that one simple tip adds up to some big calories provided you put it into practice. You could easily drop an extra half pound or more per month just by keeping it cool.
